Many congratulations have been received on winning the awards, one in-particular from Duncan Sissons of UK based company, Sisk – “Please extend congratulations to the whole team for the awards won last night. Sisk are proud to be associated with such a successful company”.

Janvrin School Field Trip to College Gardens
15th May 2017
It seems College Gardens is growing a legion of fans; the old College for Girls site received a second visit from primary school children this month. Janvrin School donned our hard hats and hi-viz waistcoats for a guided tour of the working site with Bob Matthews and team.
Bob re-named site staff with ‘Bob the Builder’ characters which seemed very successful the children and the adults.
Jersey Evening Post’s photographer David Ferguson also accompanied the school and documented the trip by taking this great photo that featured on the front page of the local paper.
Once again the children were on their best behaviour and showed impeccable manners.
Thank you Janvrin School!
Canaccord Genuity Corporate Cup 2017
28th April 2017
Now in its fourth year, the Corporate Cup sponsored by Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management, is a 5km race series aimed at all the businesses and corporations based in Jersey. This series is designed to help businesses promote and encourage a healthy way of life to all its employees, thus adding more scope and depth to existing health promotion protocols. Runners can compete as part of a team or as individuals. Running is one of the cheapest and easiest sports to get involved with. The main aim is to promote running as a healthy and enjoyable activity to everyone, encouraging mixed, mens, and ladies teams into a fun but competitive event. This series will act as a cost effective team building activity that is open to everyone in your business.
ROK’s Richard De Gruchy, Tim Marsh, Daniel Le Crom and Josh Habin were amongst 200 competitors who ran to raise as much money as possible for the Jersey Sports Association for The Disabled.
Good luck to all competitors, one down and five to go!
23rd March 2017
College Gardens had the pleasure of a special visit from the most behaved children we have met, Janvrin School Nursery.
Commercial Manager, Dave Salter and Trainee Quantity Surveyor, George Gallichan guided the children, along with their teachers, around the site which was especially prepared for the 3 year old’s visit. Once all the children were equipped with hi-viz waistcoats and hard hats the tour began with Plant Operator Supervisor, Kevin Perryman demonstrating his Manatou truck, much to the children’s delight.
After a walk through thick mud, a favourite with some adults as well as the children, all had the chance to take seat in a DB Cummins digger, engine off and keys removed of course.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the children for being on their best behaviour and making the visit a stress free morning.

Now onto the next adventure.
1st September 2016
The new Police Headquarters in St Helier had their first over night guest recently; Assistant Site Manager Jack Arthur.
Jack is currently working at PHQ and what better way to raise as much money as possible than a sleep over in a brand new cell. The evening was supervised by Paul Harrison of ROK-Regal who also stayed over night in an unlocked cell with the comfort of a mattress for the night, unlike Jack who slept in a sleeping bag only. Paul took away his mobile at 7.30pm, tucked Jack in, watered when necessary and released him at 7.30am.
Jack managed to raise a fantastic £1,000 for Jersey Hospice Care – well done Jack!

Tour of Waste Plant
7th June 2016
Along with Eco Active, we were invited along to a tour of the Energy of Waste Plant to gain a better understanding of what exactly happens to our household rubbish once collected.
The plant was completed in 2011 with the lifespan of 30 years. The idea is our rubbish is burned creating heat, in return is used to create steam. The steam is then fed into a turbine which generates electricity which is sold to Jersey Electricity Company.
We came away from the visit extremely surprised with what we are still throwing away in our daily rubbish, with all the recycling options out there. For example, some still throw glass into the general bin. Glass disposed of in the general bin will unfortunately have damaging effects on the plant itself, as glass will melt amongst the trash and become gum-like during the incineration, which in turn effects the on-going process and the ash can no longer be used in an effective way.
We feel the island has come a long way, saying that, we all can do so much more! It’s never too late to start helping our Mother Earth.
World Ocean Day
8th June 2016
We joined forces with pupils of d’Auvergne School to celebrate World Ocean Day in the only way that should, an Island Wide Beach Clean organised by the States of Jersey, Eco Active.
Along with children of ROK Construction colleagues: Rory, Tigerlily and Rudy helped teams across the island in brightening the beaches and clearing all alien debris, including I am told, a pair of false teeth! The children were greeted with the presence of Jepson teddy of Jersey Evening Post, also Phil of Freedom Media came by with a drone to film the event.
As can be seen by the photos, the children had great fun but also sends an important message; to look after our seas for tomorrow’s generation.

Greg’s Great Run
12th June 2016
Our Operations Director, Greg Morrison is taking part in the Run Jersey Half-Marathon in aid of the great charity, Jersey Employment Trust – http://www.jet.co.je/
“My half marathon run is to raise money and awareness for Jersey Employment Trust (able to work) a partnership that we formed last year to raise awareness to help people with disabilities of all kind to find work within the construction industry, never before has JET ever secured full time employment for their Clients in Construction due to the stigma that people with disabilities can’t work on a building site, we were the first last year and want the message out there to be, if we can do it why can’t other Contractors do the same, of which we picked up an award for our dedication, they have had funding cut and are struggling to maintain their facilities going such as the wood shack, of which we supply all our unwanted timber to help” – Greg Morrison.
With your help we want to reach the target of £5,000.
Please share Greg’s Just Giving page on your social media, tell who you can, encourage Greg to the finishing line!
The new football kit for d’Auvergne School was revealed this week. Pictured with the football team is Site Manager, Mark Keeney and Commercial Director, Greg Morrison alongside Sports Development Co-ordinator, Louis du Feu.
