First apprentice starts for Our Hospital Project

In January 2021, Our Hospital Project (OHP), welcomes its first apprentice, Jay Giles, working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to the Commercial Director.

Jay tells us about his path and motivation to join OHP: "This is my first role within the construction industry. After leaving school, I spent 6 years in finance. I was ready for a new challenge and wanted to go down a career path that I had been interested in for a while. I begin my study for my degree in Construction Management via University College of Estate Management in April, which along with the experience and knowledge being gained on the job, I feel will help me succeed in my new role.

I'm Jersey born and bred, I am very excited to be involved in such an important project, which will have a lasting positive impact for the Island."

When he's not crunching numbers, Jay enjoys football - he plays for Jersey Bull's first team, and is one of two team members sponsored by Rok, one part of the joint venture, RokFCC JV who are the design and delivery partner for OHP.
