Immersive learning experience at Les Quennevais School

As Les Quennevais School’s Industry Adopter on the Design Engineer Construct! (DEC) Programme, Rok gifted the school with some Oculus virtual reality headsets. These new tools allow an immersive learning experience, where students can walk through and get a greater sense of scale in and around the buildings that they’redesigning as part of their coursework.

Today, Richard and Yenni from Rok attended Mrs Katie Ferreira’s DEC classes and saw the VR headsets in action. The Y11s presented their building designs, talking through their functions, features and benefits, including solar panels, green roofs, locally sourced materials. It was inspiring to see Jersey’s future designers, engineers and construction specialists instinctively embed sustainability into their creations.

The partnership with DEC, Les Quennevais and Rok demonstrates how the collaboration between education and industry – propelled by technology – can take learning to a whole new dimension!
