Rok welcomes intern from Nantes
This March, RokFCC JV welcomed an intern from France, Ophelie, who is in her second year of a degree in civil engineering and sustainable construction at University of Nantes' Institute of Technology.
Ophelie approached Rok via a French connection, Rok's project manager, Eric Rouquie, from whom she learned about RokFCC JV's involvement in Our Hospital Project (OHP).
During her eight-week internship, Ophelie spent the majority of her time with OHP's design team and quickly became proficient in Viewpoint, the cloud-based software used for remotely and easily managing, accessing and sharing large quantities of project documents.
Beyond the day-to-day work, she integrated well within the team and participated in OHP social value initiatives during Alternative Transport Week and on a team fundraising challenge for a local health-related charity.
After her placement with OHP, the team helped Ophelie find another internship placement with local structural engineers, T&G. We were pleased to hear that she was most enthusiastic about the project she was assigned to - finding a suitable foundation for clay soil.
